Puppets And Marionettes In Paris

Welcome to the magic of Paris for children

Gignol-Theatre de Guignol on the Champs-Elysees-puppet show

Children may not understand French, but visual art is multi-language.

Below is a list of ideas for Marionnettes, Guignols, Theatre, Magic and Circus. For additional information on these entertainment venues, buy either of two weekly, small-format magazines at any newsstand: l’Officiel des spectacles (35 cents) or Pariscope (40 cents). I recommend l’Officiel (website).

Under the heading “pour les jeunes” in l’Officiel des spectacles, the categories are:
-classic plays
-other spectacles (theatre)
-talks and workshops
-marionnettes/guignols
-circus
-zoos/aquariums
-theme parks

I loved this! We’re taking our granddaughter, who will be 6 at the time, to Paris in the spring of 2011. She will love looking at the pictures of marionnettes and other wonderful things for children that Paris has to offer!

Hi Sandy – I am so glad that you enjoyed the article and video. Before you come, check out l’Officiel on line. Use Google Translate because their pages are in French. And refer to my l’Officiel blog entry that will help you with translations when you buy this weekly magazine in Paris. Bon voyage! Colleen
