Champs-Elysées-One Big Garden

Looking at the Champs-Elysees garden in Paris- Gad Weil and Laurence MedioniThe Champs-Elysées will be transformed into one big garden on May 23 and 24, 2010 for an event called Nature Capitale. It is to celebrate World Biodiversity year (2010) and World Biodiversity Day (May 22).

Nature Capitale is “a jubilatory creation, a sensitive and popular artwork…” – Gad Weil, street artist (Créateur d’art de rue)

The Jeunes Agriculteurs (Young Farmers Association) and the inter-professional organization France Bois Foret will do the “planting”. With the aid of contributions through sales of “fragments” of plantings these organizations will decorate the famous roadway between the Rond Point des Champs-Elysées and the place de la Etoile.If you speak/understand French, you can download the audio guide from their website. Portions of the event will be sold in small lots the last day. You can order on line….
