Vaux le Vicomte Taxi
Vaux le Vicomte
Less than an hour away from Paris lies the Château Vaux le Vicomte. A few years ago, someone recommended a particular taxi driver. The taxi driver is still picking up the passengers and is one of the numerous alternatives to reach the château.
To get from the train station in Melun to the château you can take the shuttle bus or you can call Matias Enrico (from Portugal) at 06 07 94 07 21. He works for Radio Taxi Melunais… Lynn sent me this information: “When I told him to pick us up at a certain time (from the Château), he was there; he was charming and spoke English.” (He does take some time off in August for holiday.)
The shuttle bus runs between April and November on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. For all of the time schedules and candlelight schedules, refer to the Vaux le Vicomte website “Prepare your visit>Access” page. The train from Gare de Lyon to Melun takes 25 minutes.

We had a card from the taxi out and used that number instead of the one on your website for our return trip to the train station from the Chateau Vaux Le Vicomte. When he arrived he introduced himself by asking where we were from and that he was from Portugal. I asked if his name was Matias Enrico and he was amazed. I then showed him my notes with his name and telephone number and that we’d gotten it from Colleen on the Internet. He said that over the past five years he regularly gets business as a result of your website. Thought you’d like to know.
You were right…speaks English very well and a great guy!
