Eiffel Tower Adds New Floor
This story has been archived. Some information may have changed since publication.
March is a busy month for the Eiffel Tower: a new floor, a winter menu deal and vertical racing. From the Eiffel Tower’s new first floor, look down 57 meters through the new transparent glass floor.
The 58 Tour Eiffel Restaurant located on the first floor remained open during the two-year renovation project. The price includes your lift ticket and the panoramic view of Trocadero and outlying Parisian areas.
The first edition of La Vertical de la Tour Eiffel is being held in the evening of March 20. This race is 279 meters race from the ground floor to the top of the Eiffel Tower, and only 1665 steps to climb. If you want to plan for 2016, the deadline for entries is in December of the previous year. Follow Ecotrails at their website traildeparis.com (in English) for events and verticalrunning.org for the next Paris and other world-wide races.

Download the official visitor guide to your phone (not free) from iTunes App Store (“Tour Eiffel, Official Visitor Guide”) Google Play (“Tour Eiffel, Official Visitor Guide”) in French or English. For a behind the scenes visit to the Eiffel Tower reserve with the tower’s official guide service, Cultival.fr (website in English).
Special accessibility rates and visiting conditions are available. The Eiffel Tower’s museum collection has been adapted for the visually-impaired. The lifts/elevators and ramps have been adapted for those with special accessibility needs. Upon presentation of a disability card, an accompanying person is included in the ticket price.
