The height of his Harlem renaissance career was during the 1930s and 1940s. He developed as an abstract expressionist as a Paris expatriate in the 1950s. Private collectors in the Paris region are loaning the works and most have never been seen by the general public before. A round table discussion on “Multiculturalism in Today’s Art World” is scheduled for February 18 and a celebration of Beauford Delaney’s personal life in Paris on February 21.
Monique Wells, is the founder of the non-profit organization Wells International Foundation, which is sponsoring the exhibition.
