Paris Cinema Festival from Lost in Frenchlation

This is a summer invitation for the event La Chaise et l’Écran cinema festival “cinéma dans nos rues” (on the Paris streets) from Manon at “Lost in Frenchlation“. Here’s hoping for a warm Friday, August 19, 12 Place Léon Blum, Paris 75011 (metro: Voltaire – line 9). Although walking distance from my apartment, my feet will be walking in Washington DC that night. Lost in Frenchlation screens current French films throughout the year. Here is your chance to enjoy French culture in the open air for free with seating provided; another opportunity to watch French films with English translations. Enjoy! “Bonjour ! Children Activities in French in Paris

Many expatriates with children/nieces/nephews/grandchildren live in Paris either long or short term. At an activity I attended the other day, a mother asked me: " How do I find things for my children to do, work on their French language and have fun in Paris?" On their webpage, the magazine, Vivre Paris, has a map showing alternatives for bridges, parks and rooftops.... Imagine the logistics of moving this many people, which means that numerous metro stations were closed. And entering any nearby and open metro station was impossible due to press of flesh! Our quandary: How to get home to the Bastille from Pont d'Alma .....

Day Trip To Auvers-sur-Oise, An Eternal Village

Auvers-sur-Oise will  be forever known because of the painter, Vincent Van Gogh. It is the final resting place of Van Gogh and was also a favorite village for other painters of the 1800s. In the last 70 days of his life Van Gogh painted 70 paintings in and around Auvers-sur-Oise. He lived here to be near his brother Theo, who lived in Paris. By direct train, the voyage from Paris takes less than 35 minutes. Auvers-sur-Oise (Auvers on the river Oise) lies within a provincial area once known as Vexin français. Because of its inclusion within the Parc naturel régional du Vexin français since 1995, Auvers-sur-Oise is eternal. According to…
